Malsumis

Slayer of dragons
His eyes were hard as he observed the lands before him, a soft, snorting chuckle escaping his maw, bone armor clattering as he jumped a little in a rear. This place. It was glorious. He had never thought that to be within a herd would have given him such a rush. That this kind of thing sent shots of dopamine through his body. He wasn't alone anymore. He wasn't the wanderer. He tossed his head back as he lunged to climb the slope of a hill, rising into a clearing and rearing back with a high, roaring howl.

He landed back on all fours with a force that could shatter bone. The skull helmet snapping it's teeth from the gravity pull. He tossed his head back again. the sunlight catching the jewels and bronze adorning his armor, flashing with an intense blinding manner. He slowed, inhaling the territory. the endless timber. Head tilting back to howl out another dragon scream again. He needed a fight. Needed something to help cool his adreneline. It wasn't often the stallion could become so energetic. Turning to eye the land around him, nostrils flaring. He started into a walk. He knew the solution to this.

It didn't take him long to find the shallows. Standing in the grasses, only reaching his knees. Standing proudly. "Gotham City! Are you to take up on our little deal?" He turned a circle slowly. He teased in the way one warrior would to another. Friendly banter. A sort of brothership, in a sense. "The Fight of The Kiin Kendov and Dovah! Spar with me, why not show off our strength? I've still to prove my strength to you." He chuckled out softly, standing proudly. Tail swaying slightly.

His herd was not quite big enough yet to allow him any job other than patrolling. He trekked the perimeter of the woods again and again, eyes eager to skim over the form of a trespasser or curious stranger he could lure into his ranks. He owed it, too, to the people of his new leadership to keep the land safe. He did not wish to be labelled a dictator of a king, but a protector and a diplomat. If he should ward off potential dangers from the borders of the woods, it might present a better start to his reign over this land.

He had just completed a full circuit - without bumping into a single breathing creature - when a bellowing yell came to his attention. The voice was iconic, the same of the man he had spoken to just recently in the Claiming Grounds. The Dragon.

He had promised the man, Malsumis, a spar to prove his worth as his Second In Command, and he must follow up on his deal. The behemoth picked up a loping canter and made his way to the origin of the noise, up a small slope in knee high grass stood the equally sized bone-covered man. He watched him with a curious eye as his growling voice spoke and then ended his greeting with a soft laugh. Emotionless facade prevented the King from smiling back, but he maintained a light hearted expression as he stepped up to face his companion, circling him once in mock-seriousness.

"Malsumis, I will keep to our deal," he nodded once, his voice blunt and yet somehow warm. "But first you must drop the armour you are able to shed. This will be a fair fight," he declared, noting that some of the armour might've been fixed onto the dragon's form. Gotham, however, was unclothed as usual and while he was under no uncertainty about his talents regarding the battle field, they were equal in size and demeanour and so he would insist they were equal in protection, too.

He readied himself, fixing his position in a square halt as his limbs coiled like springs poised for attack. He tucked his head into his chest, protecting the soft flesh of his neck as he pinned his ears back to his poll for the same reason. His tail swatted idly behind him, jellyfish lappets glowing and menacing but harmless, as he addressed the man a final time. "I'll allow you the first blow," a second nod, not intending to suggest that the other man was weaker, but rather offer a royal advantage as it was Malsumis himself who had requested the spar in return for a high placement within Crucis ranks. "Show me your worth."

2 or 3 posts each with 2 attacks in each? and because it's unofficial you can decide what injuries malsumis takes without having to use up dodges etc, just as long as it's realistic Tongue obviously, no fatal blows or anything as it's just a friendly spar xD

Malsumis

Slayer of dragons
The large stallion let out a small chuckle and nodded. "Yes. Of course, a fair fight is always preferred, no?"  Malsumis gave a joking scoff and moved slowly, removing the armor slowly. Beneath such thick bone, were protruding rocks of obsidian. Cloaking his spine, hips, and shoulder. This, was Malsumis' bone structure. Made not of marrow, but of obsidian. He did not remove the skull atop his head, as he could not. It had been his first piece of armor, and he had worn it since his earlier years, causing the piece to become forever encrusted into his face. removing it would be close to fatal.

He shook his head, as was habit to do so. A show of threat and intimidation. The granite feathers scraping against one another. Bone clattering. He released a low rumbling growl, bucking his head and rearing softly. Unlike most equine species, he was trained in the art of his tribal fighting. The dances of violence. As brutal and fatal as one could be during such a fight, it was done with grace. A show of stance and step.

The stallion eyed Gotham's stance with a ready snort. Head low, horns bared. He hadn't fought in years, but such a practice would never be forgotten. Muscle memory. A profession. With a snarl he charged forward, ripping the grass from it's rooted hold with the force of his lunge. He knew not of Gotham's style of fighting, nor of how he'd defend and assault, but he wouldn't be halted by fear of any injury. This was a spar between warriors of the same tribe. Or herd, as this odd land called it.

He did not doubt his opponents worth of fight. In fact, he would do his best to see Gotham's worth, and how it mtched his own. With such a mindset, the stallion dug into the hard ground with his left pivot, and feigned to the port. Lunging to trow a bite towards the opponent's left shoulder. His hip driving him forward, to catch any parrying blows the other may make, head tilted lightly, horns bared for an attack may the other attempt a strike to his cranium.

OOC | Sorry for the sloppiness of this. I happened to be extremely rushd towards the end but knew I had t get it done sooner or later, since I put it off for like, two days. sorry! Big Grin
Gotham City

Attack:
A left lunge and attempted bite to Gotham's left shoulder, Hip driving forward to shove Gotham off balance.

Defense:
Skull tilted to keep his horns facing Gotham in case of any head-bound attacks.

He watched with intense eyes as the stallion before him dropped his armor, the bone cladding falling to the floor with a distinct thunk and leaving all but his face uncovered and exposed. The Crucis King gave a satisfied nod, Malsumis' words hardly registering in his ears as his heart already clamored with adrenaline. It had been too long since he had been engaged in battle - far too long. It was rather a shame this spar was intended for diplomatic purposes as opposed to a raging competition. Clearly, neither stallion needed hold back - they were equally matched in size and brute, both apparently well practiced in the art of combat. However, it would be entirely unnecessary to pose a fight with the intention of severely maiming or knocking out the opponent. This was purely a match by which Gotham intended to judge his foe's suitability for the rank of Adviser, to work at his side. Jovial, one might say.

The King stood perfectly still as the intimidation display took place in front of him. His expression was blunt and unshowing of any reaction - he was a difficult man to intimidate. Nevertheless, though, he could see how such a tactic would work well on lesser experienced creatures or those with a more... fragile sensitivity.

He continued to watch, eyes intending to lock with those of the Dragon, as he was charged. His brute was big enough to not worry particularly about any injury caused by collisions, and besides, he was here to judge Malsumis' abilities. To do so, he needed to at least let one attack hit him at full strength to make a fair judgment on his power and skill. The other stallion whirled into his left side, teeth bore as his hip crashed into Gotham's chest. The black and cyan stag staggered back a short step to catch the impact, allowing Malsumis' teeth to sink into the muscle of his left shoulder. The wound would be fair, more than a mere scratch but just shallow enough as to not leave an obvious scar. It immediately began to seep, rivulets of crimson blood running down the contours of his left foreleg. For now, the pain that shot through his nerves only served as cause for more adrenaline. Something in his eyes sparked as the behemoth pushed his colossal strength into his hind legs, throwing himself up and stepping forwards as he arced his body over Malsumis' withers. His front legs thrashed as dinner plate hooves sought to find contact with the ridge of his opponent's spine, seeking to dislodge a vertebra or at least cause painful bruising.

He began to swing his forelegs back to Malsumis' left side, though before they made contact with the ground once more he brings his right hind leg up and aims the tip of his hoof at Malsumis' right knee. Whether it broke the skin or not, it would surely serve to sway him off balance should it have made contact where intended. As of yet, the other stallion's face was too dangerous of a target, covered so much by bone and tilted in such a way that any attempted attack to the area would only injure Gotham City more. He landed back on all-fours and, after momentarily tilting his head to ensure the bite on his shoulder was not bleeding too profusely, fixed his gaze yet again on the man in front of him.

INJURIES: semi-deep bite on his left shoulder, bleeding and sore but won't scar much, if at all (better hope it doesn't get infected, though). He staggered back a few steps upon Mal's collision with his chest but not too much - the impact might cause very very very mild bruising.

ATTACK: attempts to bring both front hooves down on Malsumis' spine, intending to dislodge a vertebra or cause bruising/break skin, then kicks out with his right hind leg to try and throw Mal off balance on his right side.

Malsumis

Slayer of dragons
Malsumis was surprised as Gotham City allowed the bite to his shoulder. He was left slightly off balance from the shove in the other's chest, he knew he'd better find his footing again. THe blood he could taste made him bare his teeth in disgust. He had never much liked the taste of equine blood, and saw it a disgrace to consume any of it, as fear of bodily fluid borne illness often became a large factor.

The behemoth aside him lunged back, balancing on trunk-like hind legs. While Malsumis took time trying to duck away from the striking, rock sharp hooves. Unluckily, the hooves struck down on him, a snarling grunt left his maw. While the heavy impact did nothing to fracture the obsidian bone structure, there would be bruising. It already pulsed, and bled lightly from a small break in the flesh. His attention to the strike ebbed, catching sight of the mountainous hooves coming for his knee, Malsumis tried to rear and spin away. Hooves striking his Long Pastern Bone. Had it been any higher, the hit may have fracture his cannon. Even though he may have had Obsidian bone, certain bones were more delicate than others, it still gave him a limp, a probable bruising to the bone, and damage to certain tendons. He wouldn't let this slow him for now.

The dragon staggered, stopping to pound on the front end, and rein back. Had the battle been viewed at a distance, such a move would have been graceful. Vast front hooves struck out, parting the air with a whistling sound as he aimed to strike for Gotham City's withers, just above the bite. Pushing on the wound would be a distraction, would create an opening.

While this battle may have been friendly, and while he knew that, the rush of adreneline made him flare and roar in excitement from the battle. Back humped to buck up into the other shall he try another spinal attack. Teeth bared, skull rattling. Head bucking to clack the lower jaw to the upper within the skull.

OOC | Gotham City

Attacks:
A striking kick attempting to crush the sternum and give Malsumis opening for a heavier attack.
Another strike, rearing, attempting to hit the bite wound.

Injuries:
A strike to the spine, causing medium bruising. Broke through the skin to cause slight concerning bleeding and tender back.
The kick to his knee was instead delivered to his long pastern, giving slight fracture and just a little damage to inner tendons.

The King watched his opponent sway and bare his teeth with satisfaction. The peculiarly pointed fangs seemed not to appreciate the taste of his blood and Gotham could consider this as a weakness. He was not a meat eater, much less a cannibal, but he was at least familiar and un-insulted by the copper tang of crimson on his tongue in a battle. It was not, however, near enough of a weakness to place any limitations on Malsumis' shoulders - the stallion was still a promising candidate for the advisory spot amongst the Crucis Council.

His hooves came crashing down on his foe's spine, not feeling the dislodging of bone but at least causing a small flesh wound which began to seep immediately. His kick didn't quite meet the intended target, though he succeeded at least in hitting the man's pastern, which he suspected would prove quite painful in the days to come. Just as all four hooves once again returned to the ground beneath him, Malsumis' forelegs came shooting forwards in his peripheral vision. At the last minute, he span on his hind legs and the implements instead hit the muscular cushion of his barrel. For a brief moment, Gotham felt the give of his ribcage as it took the majority of the impact - no bones snapped, no flesh broke, but the area would be considerably tender for a week or so and he would have impressive bruising to show for it. The impact was not quite close enough to cause pain to the bite on his shoulder, although the slight nearby pressure caused the blood flow to increase just barely where the bleeding had almost come to a stop.

Moments after he dodged the attack to his shoulder, Gotham was forced to suck in a breath as a solitary hoof collided with his sternum. Again, the flesh did not break but he staggered back as the wind was forced out of him. Nostrils flared as he hungrily swallowed down enough air to replenish his lungs and he flicked his head upwards as if to say 'Bring it on'. From where he stood, a few metres now from his attacker, the beast pawed the ground with his left foreleg, mud and debris clouding behind him, before lashing out with his back legs and charging forwards. He did not slow his pace as he approached the dragon, instead dipping his head and, as the distance closed, aiming it for the spot between the lower jaw of Malsumis' bone mask and his actual jaw.

He thrust his head upwards at the last moment, intending for his own domed crown to crash into Mal's jaw, causing his neck to jar upwards. From here, he opened his mouth and twisted his head, contorting his own neck with a circular movement to place his teeth as close to his opponent's eye as he could. He snapped his mouth shut, desperate to feel his jaw close around the flesh or bone of the dragon's eye socket rather than the mask that shrouded it.

If nothing else should come of it, though he suspected it would, he at least had Malsumis to thank for the fight. His adrenaline was charging like it hadn't in months - this was the fight he should've had with the wolf, and while it was overdue, he would cherish every moment of it. God knows, in the back of his head he was aware the battle had to stop at some point, else the two stallions would likely fight each other til they were physically able to fight no more. For now at least, though, the pain was a thrill to him, and he wished it not to stop.

Injuries: I wasn't too sure what order the attacks happened in, as in the post I could only work out where he tried to kick his front hooves into the bite on Gotham's shoulder? But I worked with it as best I could <3 Heavy, painful bruising on his left side over his ribcage - no broken flesh or bones but he may struggle/experience pain in breathing for a week or two. Kick to his sternum caused him to stagger back and considerably winded him, will also likely bruise.

Attack: tried to thrust the top of his head under Mal's chin, forcing his neck upwards and hopefully causing some kind of jarring of his jaw or bruising as well as hurting the neck, then twisted his head to try and close his mouth over Mal's eyesocket, biting the flesh/skin there.

One more battle post each ? Close up after that ? c:

Malsumis

Slayer of dragons
The satisfaction that swelled in his chest as the kick met his opponent's body made a dominant, instinctual roaring snarl rip from his maw. The blood still dripping from his chin. The time in victory here was short, as each stood across from one another. Staring down on one another like wild cats fighting for the affection of a female in heat. As the other pawed, he did as well. Digging deep grooves into the ground like a dog to a bone. Fog blasted from flared nostrils in the cool of the meadow. The grasses, that had once rissen to brush their knees, now trampled into the ground to create what would look like a ring around them.

Malsumis leaned back into a rear, baring massive teeth, ears pinned back. Meeting the king's silent message with his own. 'Give me your worst.' And lunging to meet the charge with a full attack, front legs striking out in attempt to keep the other far enough back to bite or headbutt. When Gotham jerked his colossal head, it struck Malsumis on the round of his jaw. The attack instantly sent an aching jolt through his neck. He felt stiffness pop and crackle and grunted as he jerked his head, to attempt to release his head of any stiff-neck position, going after Gotham's bite with one of his own, teeth closing on empty air as hie missed the bite. The sight of his king's teeth flashing towards his eye made him jolt, rearing up. While the teeth dug into the delicate area of exposed skin just under the skull, he threw his head into Gotham City's. He felt the flesh within the bite rip the flesh, before he twisted away.

He ran a few paces, digging his hind hooves into the beat down floor and sending a shower of rock and dust in the other's direction. Hopeful to trab the debris in his eyes as he performed another rein back and charge, thrusting the horns up at Gotham's head.

OOC | Gotham City

Attacks:
{Apologies for the unclarity last time)
The attempted bite to Gotham's Face only counted as a filler for words lol, the bite did not finish through.

1st real attack - Attempting to throw dust and rock into Gotham's face and eyes
2nd - A lunge trying the drive his horns into Gotham's head.

Injuries:
A heavy hit to hi neck, will cause bruising and cause stiff neck. Will be extremely sore and tender for days to come.
A deep bite, while not landing directly in his eye, was delivered to his upper cheek bone, tearing flesh and exposing small amounts of the black obsidian skull. This will scar.

His body was beginning to ache and he was treasuring every sensation that trickled through his nerves. For the first time in a long while, the King felt truly alive again. The pain served as a reminder that he was here and he was real - he was not merely some starstuff that watched over the world in solitary silence and bid his time only with impatient musings of metaphysics. It wasn't exactly that Gotham cared what his purpose on Earth was, much less did he care what others thought of him, but fighting was his true passion and without it his life was little more than meaningless sex and idle conversation.

He watched Malsumis prepare for another attack out of the corner of his eye, mild satisfaction setting in as he saw sharp teeth grinding against each other with nothing between them. His own teeth closed around the skin beneath the dragon's eye, tearing away a small segment of flesh which he promptly spat to the floor. Briefly, he swept his tongue over his lips to clear the animal crimson that gathered in result of the opponent's torn flesh, but his attention was diverted for so long he failed to see the other stallion kicking his heels and sending dust and debris billowing towards his face. His reaction was too slow by a milisecond - the black stag grimaced, squinting his eyes against the cloud of dust though it failed to stop some of the smaller particles from getting in. He inhaled a good deal of it, too, causing him to take a few moments out as he coughed and spluttered, eyes just beginning to tear up in attempt to get rid of the irritation.

Through gritty vision the man saw Malsumis readying himself for another attack, horns dipped and menacingly pointed towards his skull. He let the man charge before fainting to the left, allowing the bone structures to collide with the flesh behind his right ear. They both made fair puncture marks - not too deep but painful and already bleeding considerably. They would likely scar, though the damage was far preferred to that which would be inflicted had they met with the sides of his head.

Realising this to be his last chance to attack in their impromptu spar, Gotham lifted his head and ignored for the moment the throb of his new injuries. He did not step back from where he had been attacked - lest Malsumis moved back, they were within close proximity of each other. He first moved his head forwards, mouth open and teeth looking to snap shut over the arching bone of the dragon's withers. He sought to clench down on the bone and not release until his forelegs reared up, dragging the other stallion up with him as his front right hoof aimed for the skin where his neck connected with his chest. A hoof with such strength would surely be able to cause quite considerable damage. As the man reached the pinnacle of his rear, he tore his head away, not particularly caring for how much of Mal's skin he took with him, and twisted to the left to land away from the stallion. He staggered back a step or two and squared his feet as he faced his foe.

"You've proved yourself a worthy opponent, Malsumis." head dipped in genuine acknowledgement of the stallion's obvious battle experience, "It would be an honour to list you as my Advisor."

Injuries: sore eyes, slight cough thanks to the dust/rocks kicked at him. two semi-deep puncture wounds behind his right ear which will scar and be fairly painful, restricting neck movement for a few days.
Attack: tried to bite down on Mal's withers and drag him into a rear with his teeth. Then aimed his right front hoof at the skin beneath Mal's neck, trying to puncture the flesh there.

Mal can respond and then leave, or I'll hop one last post in with Gotham? But feel free to post for a rank update to second/advisor and i'll change it on the table, too!
