Colossus breathed deep, eyes closing as head tipped back. She could feel the cool breeze dance along her flesh for a moment, allowing it to ground her before she opened her eyes once more. She had been here once before, in an attempt to carve the ache of her muscles from her. It had worked for the most part but now it was more then that. She was here for a reason greater then even herself, greater then Kur, greater then anything. She was here to create a better world, a perfect world. This was where she would have to do it, this was where it all began and this was where it would end one way or another.

Woman would move slowly, deliberately. She felt good, better then she had felt since she had arrived in these lands. She had found Kur and he had settled her more then she had expected. But that wasn’t enough; she needed more. Armed with the knowledge she has acquired in her travels the woman would move back to the coliseum, muscles flexing and rippling beneath scarred hide as she prepared herself for what was about to happen. She was bringing herself forward closer to the center of the coliseum, massive hooves place with strange care.

Deep breath would be drawn once more before head would tip back and a shrill whinny would reverberate through her chest. “King of the Heretics, a challenger stands before you.” The words would bellow forth as she called forth the man she had never met before. She had no ill will towards him; she had no care for his wants or desires. All she knew was the little she had been told and that was enough for her to stand forward and call to him. She was not in design an honorable creature but she felt no desire to egg the man on to attempt to call him forth. If he had a care of his home and his land he would fight her no matter what she screamed at him.

And so the wait would begin.

Shoulders would roll back and she would attempt to loosen the tension that was seeping in her muscles. She ached to fight, she wanted to feel pain and to inflict it, and though she knew it would come soon enough she also knew it would involve a wait. Hopefully in that time Kur would come to support her, hopefully he would approve of her methods. They had spoken of doing this but she had not completely shared this half hatched plan of hers. Everything would fall into place soon enough…

Excitement was in the air.

A huge, bulky stallion stalked through the Iron Valley, purple eyes flicking around, full of contentment.  This was his kingdom, his home.  Draco, as he was called, raised his huge belgian head to smell the chilly air, searching for any signs of horses who were foolish enough to trespass on his land, his Valley. Draco was about to suck in a full breath of air when a sound could be heard. The noise sent a rush of adrenaline coursing through his veins, mixing in with his inky black blood.  A female voice rang through the crisp air, carried on the breeze from the direction of the Colosseum.

A challenger?

His eyes narrowed, a glimmer of excitement shining deep within them.  Oh, how he would love the chance to spill this foolish mare’s blood.  Sure, a bit of his own life-giving liquid would be spilled in the process, that was came with the territory, but it would be worth it.  This rogue dared to challenge the mighty Emperor of the Heretics, handpicked by the Bastard Firstborn himself?

She did.  The fool.

Draco left the Valley for the first time in months, grey legs moving him along at a leisurely trot.  There was no need to hurry, after all, the battle could not start without him!  He smirked.  The huge stallion was not worried.  He had slaughtered a basilisk in order to gain this rank, he could fend off any challenge that was thrown at him.  As Draco trotted along, he arched his neck and flexed his huge muscles, stretching out before the battle began.  Though many thought him to be an ignorant, defenseless king, he was no stranger to battles.  He had many scars from run ins with a variety of beasts.  Wolves, bears, mountain lions, alligators and the like.  As early as foalhood he had sought out such creatures and faced them head on in battle, slaughtering the majority of them, and devouring their innards.  What fun that had been.  It did not matter that he had never been challenged by another horse, he had all the experience he needed. Draco’s eyes glittered with a bloodthirsty malice.  This mare would be sorry that she ever dared call forth the Emperor of Heretics.

Soon enough, the white spires of the Colosseum came into view.  Draco took a deep breath in.  The scent of blood was thick and heavy here.  He slowed to a walk, stopping momentarily to stretch out one final time before he walked on, under the huge spires of the mighty arena.

The mare who waited there intrigued the Emperor.  She was much smaller than him, obviously much lighter than him too.  She, unlike Draco, had no appendages growing forth from her body.  A burst of even more confidence blossomed in Draco’s broad chest.  Being bigger would have obvious advantages, as well as disadvantages.  Draco did not care.  He was prepared, and this mare had better be ready to beg for mercy.

“Shall we begin, foolish girl?” He spoke as he stalked into the arena, crystalline structures on his back moving like the shoulders of a panther when it walks.  He stopped a good distance away from her.  The ground was dry, an advantage for the stallion if she decided to charge, though old uneven stones were scattered across the arena.  He would need to be careful of those. Watching the smaller mare, Draco stood lightly on his feet, confident in his abilities. He would let this foolish child have the first move.

She would take time to simply stand and root herself to this place. Eyes would remain closed as her ears fluttered about in an attempt to catch any sound that drifted her way. She enjoyed this place; something about it reminded her of home and centered her. The smell of blood didn’t frighten her away like it would so many others; it was so much a part of her that it was almost comforting. The last time she had found herself here was also for a fight and it had been the first time she had found some clarity since she had arrived here. Something about battle gave her peace of mind, it allowed her to settle in and focus on something so much bigger then herself rather then any trivial concerns that might plague her on a normal basis.

It took some time, not that she minded waiting, before a man to draw up before him. Eyes would open as the sound of heavy footfalls echoed all around her and drew her attention forward. She had hoped it would come from the way she had arrived, that maybe Kur would show up before her opponent. But that was not the case and she would be left to stand stoically and face her new company. Visage was carefully expressionless, studying her opponent as her drew near. He was larger then her, something she was used to battling, and his face as well as his shoulder was adorned with purple crystals it seemed. She knew where her first place to strike would be…

Eyes would no leave his face once he drew closer, taking in the smug smile and the cocky stride as he drew near. She would not be so forward with her emotions even as he spoke in an attempt to mock her. Of course he was just another stallion with a god complex, nothing new and nothing exciting. Head would tip slightly, possibly in greeting or possibly out of agreement. She had no issue beginning this considering that she had been the one to call him all the why out here.  Muscles would roll along her body before she would take a single step forward and dip her head further much like a fencer bowing to their opponent at the beginning of a match. She wasn’t without respect. He had come to lead this herd somehow; he wouldn’t be without his strengths.

-BEGIN FIGHT-

Hind foreleg would slide back as she centered herself before the woman would lunge, colossus charging forward to try and close the short distance between them as quickly as possible. Warlord would bring her head lower in an attempt to use her smaller height to her advantage. As soon as she was near she would attempt to snap her head up, skull twisting to the left as she tried to bring her maw up around the base of his throat, upper and lower jaws on either side of his jugular just below his jaw bone. It was an attempt to get those horns out of her face right away and minimize any damage he might be able to do to her. At the same time the woman would blow out the excess air in her lungs as she would try to use gathered momentum to slam her chest into his and shove him off balance.

She had learned at a young age how important defenses were so as soon as her body would loose its momentum she would attempt to settle them in. Hooves would staggered splayed with loose joints to keep her as balanced as possible, weight pushed forward onto the toes of her hooves to dig into the earth as much as possible. Back would arch with stomach clenched to collect her core strength and tail now tucking tight to her body to give the larger male less to grab onto. Shoulders would roll forward to add extra cushioning around the back of her neck, neck would scrunch, head would tip down as much as she was able while open jaws would offer a bit of extra protection to the underside of her throat. Lastly she would narrow her eyes to provide as much protection to her eyes before flattening ears completely to her skull.

Draco was a proud beast.  From the moment he entered the arena, he acted as if it was his to preside over.  He was royalty, this mare was nothing, and it would stay that way long after the battle was over.  If the mare noticed his confidence, she did not let on how she felt about it.  Smart move, it is unwise to disrespect an Emperor even if you are challenging for their throne.  When the mare bowed, Draco did not react.  Even more confidence filled him, a bit of smugness mixed in as well.  She recognized his power, unlike some horses.  She was wise. If she showed Draco respect beforehand like she had, Draco might be more inclined to spare her when she begged for mercy at the end of their battle.  The huge stallion prepared himself for the battle to begin.  He stayed light on his hooves, ready to react to anything at a moment’s notice.  Without saying another word, this mare began her first attack.

The mare leapt towards the Emperor without warning, but Draco was prepared.  Though he was inexperienced fighting other horses, he was able to use his knowledge of fighting predators to his advantage, at least in this first attack.  He lowered himself down into a defensive stance in that precious second he had, bracing himself for the impact that was about to take place.  Draco watched the smaller mare’s face, and saw her eyes dart to his neck.  Fury filled him.  How dare she even think about trying to land such a blow, one that could kill him?  She would pay dearly for such an action.

The impact came quicker than the Emperor expected.  He stumbled back only a step or two before shoving his own weight at the shorter mare in an effort to shove her off balance and away from him.  In a test of pure strength, Draco was sure he would win.  It was hard to find anyone who was naturally stronger than the huge Belgian.  A rush of joy shot through Draco.  Since the day he was born in the Sentient Marshlands, he had waited for this moment.  To spill another’s blood in the name of Heretic.

There was nothing he loved more.

As the mare lunged upwards to grab his neck, he twisted away, moving in an attempt to use his huge crystal growths on his shoulder to slam her in the head.  As he did so, Destroyah was able to fully land her attack on the side of his neck, just inches from the precious jugular, though he was able to quickly rip himself away from her due to already being in motion.  Inky black blood gushed out of the wound, and Draco grunted, holding back a yell of pain.  His deep purple eyes lit up with fury.  How dare she?  At the very least, Draco had avoided a potentially lethal attack.

The mare retreated back a step or two, muscles tensed, eyes squinted, ears flat.  She was worried about the Emperor’s oncoming attack, of course.  Draco, despite the pain in the right side of his neck, wasted no time in lunging for his opponent.  The grey stallion, coat stained pitch black from his blood, lowered his head and lunged in low enough to be almost level with the mare, ears plastered back on his head.  He aimed a hard bite at Destroyah’s lower left side of her neck, eyes wide with wild excitement.  Instead of snapping his jaws closed however, he used his three huge, sharp horns on his head, particularly the longest one, to slash in a broad horizontal motion.  Though it was not as sharp as a knife or a sword, it was sharp enough to break through flesh.  The stallion put a fair amount of force into his sudden swing, though the swing was painful to his neck wound, so it did not have as much power as he would have liked.  He hissed in pain as his neck moved, though he did not relent.  Pain was nothing compared to the throne he was defending.  As he did this, the stallion shoved his weight into her, attempting to throw her off guard as he swung at her.

A memory blossomed in Draco’s mind.

This battle was oddly familiar to the beast.

He remembered his fight with the basilisk all those months ago.  He had won the throne by a simple slice of his horn, slicing the serpent’s soft belly open in a gash several feet in length.  The great beast had lay spasming, but Draco did not withdraw his horn, covered in crimson, until the thrashing finally stopped.  He had defeated more experienced foes in the process, and taken the throne for himself.  He would be sure to have the same result today.  He was not handing off his power any time soon.  He liked it too much!

Draco used the small amount of momentum from his swing at Destroyah to swing himself fully around, landing a few feet away from her in the process.  There he stood, ears flat to his skull, legs spread far apart for balance, teeth gritted.  His head was down, protecting his jugular and other vitals in his neck.  He would not make the same mistake again by leaving his neck undefended.

The beast was learning the art of fighting another equine, and he was a fast learner.

Attack Summary: Attempted to hit Destroyah’s head away by using his crystal shoulder growths.  Lunged in low at her, feinted a bite before slashing horizontally across the lower left side of her neck/part of her shoulder (attack was made weaker by the pain in his neck wound, though it still had enough power behind it to break skin).  As he did this, he shoved his weight into her, attempting to gain the advantage as he swung.  Twists away to avoid any possible oncoming attack using the momentum of the swing.

Defense:  Currently is standing a few feet away from where Destroyah last stood, hooves spread wide apart for balance, ears flat, muscles clenched, head tucked to defend his neck.  Low to the ground and light on his hooves, ready to react to an attack at a moment’s notice.

He had followed her, though at his own pace. Her voice filled his ears, her challenge unfurling it’s greedy claws until it drew forth the soon to be fallen leader. Ears shoved forward as the sounds of titans clashing demanded his presence. True to his build, powerful hind limbs hurled his body forward into an eager canter. Forelegs lifted high with his lofty gait, his skull raised to the skies as his fiery gaze sought the striped hide of his companion. He would find her, already locked in the grasp of war. He would bring his behemoth mass to a halt, hooves thundering.

Ears turned back towards his skull, flattening in aggression. Narrowed hues zeroed in on the opposing challenger, a stallion that was larger than his amazon. Strange crystals protruded from the brutes face and shoulders, dangerous weapons he wielded confidently. He would stand by, stoic as ever. There was no worry in his gut, only anticipation. She had kept him in the dark on most of this, telling him on what she wished him to know. Not that he cared. There was something settling about letting her take the reins and simply point him in a direction.

The battling hellions exchanged a series of blows, hers far more lethal from the start. It was not the first time he watched in the arena, nor would it be the last. Despite their dark past, he was unfazed, she’d handle whatever was thrown at her. Nostrils flared, sucking in the stench of the stallions herd, something he’d no longer be returning to...

The gladiator was no stranger to the taste of her fellow equines flesh, she was used to the clash of body and feeling flesh on flesh. She was used to ripping flesh from bone and feeling the pain of wounds. She enjoyed the feel of blood on her hide, the hot slick feeling that just made her shudder in ecstasy. She loved to fight; she loved everything about this and everything about this place. She had come here before just to practice her art, to better herself in the dance of battle with another male. No matter the outcome of this battle she would continue to come here to release the tension as it gathered in her body and continue to refine her art.

He would settle into a defensive stance and with that they would begin. He would react well, only stumbling a step or two with the force of their collision before regaining his footing and attempting to shove her off him. She would not yield, her body rocking back with the force of his shove before attempting to lean her whole body forward to give no quarter. She wanted to feel his blood on her face; she had no intention of backing up. His shoulder rolled forward to slam the crystals along them into the woman’s face while drawing head upwards to twist from her grasp. The force of the crystals impacting with her skull would send her bite wide, teeth instead ripping into the side of his neck and sending a wash of black blood cascading over her face before he ripped himself from her grasp.

His neck would twist, attempting to arch around her and bite at the lower left side of her neck. At the same time she would turn and attempt to bring her own gaping jaws down onto his right eye even as his own horns slashed horizontally along her chest. Long line would be gouged along heavy chest, taking a moment to revel in the heat of the blood that washed down her chest. As his head completed its arch he would push his body forward, chest shoving into her chest. A hiss of ecstasy would slither form her lips as a wild grin spread across her maw, the pressure of his chest against her bringing her sheer joy.

She knew he had arrived, she could feel it in her bones without even having to shift her focus. Something about his presence would push her forward. She was doing this for them…

A shriek would rip itself from her vocals as she attempted to throw the entirety of her weight into the man, front right hoof attempting to rip out his hoof from beneath him. But his attack would carry through and he would twirl away, causing a snarl to rip from her lips. “Are you afraid of me?” Her words were a challenge, a purr as she stalked around him like a wolf sizing up its prey. “Are you running away?” A sneer would slither across her lips as she attempted to circle him completely and come to stand before him once more. “True leaders never retreat, never run away and never show fear.” She would snap before once again thundering towards him. If he couldn't face her properly then how could he lead a herd? He wasn't deserving of his title.

Her companions presence would fan a flame inside of her, igniting a spark that she had kept dim within her since walking to this place. Neck would arch and lean to her right as she attempted to slam her left shoulder into the center of his chest, completely prepared for the hot white pain that was sure to come if there was contact. Jaws would fly wide once more as she attempted to come from above this time to try to latch onto the middle of his neck and shove him to his right (her left). Left leg would attempt to slither forward to between his own forelimbs to once again try to snake around his left limb and rip his leg out from beneath him. All the while she would keep eyes narrowed, tail tucked and ears back. Her stance would splay slightly as joints loosened to accommodate her tripod stance. Now she wanted blood...

Draco felt a burst of joy as crimson blood gushed out of the wound he had inflicted upon the mare.  He had finally drawn blood.  Through his ecstasy, the stallion felt the mare bring her head down upon his right eye suddenly.  Not having enough time to move, Draco felt the impact hard, and his vision slightly dimmed.  Whether that would be permanent remained to be seen.  When her head had completed its attack, a black eye was left in its place.  The eyelid began to swell, it would be nearly swollen shut by the end of the battle.  This did not matter to the stallion, however.  Draco was used to hunting with his other senses, he did not need sight. As he spun, the mare tripped him with her hoof.  He stumbled back a step or two, not too unbalanced by her attack, but enough that his spin was not as quick as he wanted.

When Draco drew back, as a dare for the mare to lunge for him once again, she reacted differently, very foolishly.  She did not attack, instead circling around him, seemingly unimpressed.  Draco kept his head down, not bothering to follow her movement with his sight.  His years of hunting had taught him to listen rather than look for his prey.  He listened to her heavy hooves, knowing exactly where she was.  She spoke foolishly, not knowing what Draco’s intent truly was by spinning away.  The grey stallion grinned in amusement, eyes focused on the ground.  “We Heretics never run away, we simply lie in wait for the right moment to ambush.”  He heard her draw closer to his front.  This was where she would strike, he was sure. If she took another lap around him, he would strike at her from the side, he was growing bored. “One who does not understand that does not deserve the throne.”

As she lunged, Draco tried a new method of defending himself.  He leapt off from the ground nearly half a second after she did, aiming to give her a taste of her own medicine.  She slammed into him midair.  It had the same effect as it would have had if he was at a standstill, except that he slammed into her as well, aiming to knock her back a bit before her next attack.  A fiery white pain erupted in his chest, and Draco’s eyes sparkled with both fury and excitement.  Ears pinned back, he watched as she aimed a bite at his neck yet again, the top of it this time near where his mane met the flesh.  Was that the only thing she was capable of, attacking the neck? Draco was unimpressed. She was not going to win any throne if that was her only attack, she needed to be more creative!   As she grabbed hold, Draco attempted to move to the side, but was unable to do so in time. The Emperor reared slightly, pushing outwards into her chest with his pale colored hooves, attempting to pummel her now that she was attached to him.  He was prevented from fully rearing by Destroyah as she attempted to trip him with her hoof.  His left leg buckled slightly, though not enough to bring him down completely. As she tried to shove his head to the side, he was thrown slightly off balance and had to cease his lashing out with his hooves sooner than he had hoped.  He immediately stood to his full height, pain shooting through the spot where she was latched on.

Quickly Draco attempted to twist towards his opponent, twisting his neck so that he was able to rip his neck away..  Though painful, the wound that was left was not incredibly bloody. There were more bones than there were arteries in that part of the neck.  He twisted towards Destroyah, aiming for the critical part of her neck under her head where her jugular was, leaning his head forwards slightly to utilize his horns to their fullest potential, perhaps to catch her head and part of her neck with it.  He wanted crimson to coat those lavender spikes, he wanted the mare to scream, to choke on her own blood.  Bonus points if the man over there on the sidelines witnessed it.

She would witness what the Heretic Emperor could truly do to the fools that dared challenge him.

As he lunged for her neck, he once again swung his left crystal-covered shoulder (Destroyah’s right) at her chest.  His neck wound, black blood beginning to clot slightly, let out a burst of pain and the drizzle of blood increased as he did all of this, but Draco did not relent.  The pain was worth it. It always was.  He shoved his weight into her as well, hoping to unbalance her and knock the breath out of her lungs with his huge quartz spikes.

As he fought, Draco realized how much this mare’s challenge could cost him.  His purple eyes flashed with fury. This mare had come along and ruined all his plans.  He was going to reap destruction upon the rest of Elysium, unopposed by his people.  He would have slaughtered his enemies, burned every herd to the ground, not just Crucis.  Draco could still go through with those plans, he just had to win. That seemed easy enough in his mind.

As he attacked, he prepared his defenses.  There was no doubt in his mind that Destroyah would use this opportunity to her advantage as well.  His ears were flat, his muscles tensed everywhere, yet also ready to spring at a moment’s notice.  He focused most of his energy on a successful attack however.  If this mare wasn’t careful, this move would be his last, and her last moments of life.  Part of Draco hoped that she would avoid the attack, at least partially.  He hadn’t had so much fun in a while, and he didn’t want it to end!

Attack Summary: Tracks Destroyah with his hearing as she circles.  As she lunges for him, he jumps towards her as well,  he was body slammed by her, though he also threw his weight at her as well.  He attempted to pummel her with his hooves, but was thrown off balance after a few swipes and had to return to his normal stance.  He twists away from her as she latches onto his neck, and aims for her jugular right under her head.  He leads with his horn slightly, hoping to inflict even more damage that way.  As he lunges, he turns his crystal spikes on his shoulder and attempts to shove them into Destroyah’s chest, shoving his full weight into the attack.

Defense: Muscles tense, ears flat, leading attack with spikes as both a weapon and a shield.  Light on his hooves, muscles ready to react at a moment’s notice due to an extreme dose of adrenaline.

Injuries: multiple bruises on his chest from several collisions, painful, moderately deep wound on side of neck (blood is beginning to clot), shallow wound on the top of his neck, (a chunk of mane is missing), swollen black eye, shallow nicks on his legs from being tripped by Destroyah's hooves.

OOC: I’m sorry about the backing up thing, I must have read the post wrong, my mistake! D:

Drag my teeth across your chest to taste your beating heart

Blood always brought her joy; it always brought of rush of sheer ecstasy over her even if it was her own blood. This man would never get his wish; he would never hear her beg for her life of cry out in pain. It was something she had never done in her life. Her father had raised her to know that to die in battle was the most honourable of deaths, that there was nothing to fear. For this reason nothing except a hiss of joy would leave her as his horns parted the flesh of her chest. It would be just another scar to add to her collection of many. Just like his crown would be yet another that she would rip from his skull. This was just another battle, just another cocky stallion to stamp out of existence.

Maw would connect with his eye and almost immediately she would see the flesh around it puff up. Lovely… Her leg would connect with his own and he would stumble in his attempted spin to flee. Coward. Sneer would remain in place as she circled him, watching him follow her. His words were ridiculous… It was something a hunter would say not a gladiator. And then it dawned on her. He had never fought another equine before. All of his moves, his distance and retreat were how you fought a predator. A bark of a laugh would cut through her lips, but otherwise she wouldn’t respond. There was no point, his crown would be hers soon enough.

Chests would slam together, their forward momentum causing the pair to come to a complete stand still. Heat spread through the wound on her chest but she would barely react, used to so much more and so much worse that this was barley an issue. Jaws would meet the top of his neck successfully despite the fact that he would attempt to pull away. He would bounce up, striking at her chest with his hooves weakly due to their close proximity. Her shove would toss him to the side slightly, his left leg buckling from her trip. As soon as he moved to jerk his head up she would release her grip, attempting to allow teeth to rake along her opponents neck.

Head would tip slightly to her left as she saw his horns coming, allowing them to slice along the right side of her neck, pulling up a thin layer of flesh as it drifted along. His shoulder covered in crystals would roll forward, slamming into her chest and knocking the wind from her but otherwise not causing her to loose her footing. “He’s here for me not you.” Her voice would whisper as he drew in close. “No one is here to support you, not a single member of your herd is here to show their support. No loyalty… You are no king.” She would hiss as she looked to arch her neck and chomp down on his ear, hoping to rip it from his skull.

She was new to this land, the only loyal she wielded as Kurs and he had arrived, loyal as ever. This man was just another stallion who lorded over his herd with no care for them she was sure. Anytime there was any challenge within the Uruk everyone attended. It was a show of support for their herd mates; it was a show of support for their leader. Troy would command loyalty above all else; it was the singular most important thing for her. And here he had none…

Again she would look to slam her chest forward into his, looking to give him no space to move and keep him close to lessen the damage that those horns and spikes could do to her. Front left knee would lift and she would look to bludgeon his chest with her knee, trying to alternate between striking his chest with her knee and slamming the hoof of the same leg down towards his left knee. All the while her own eyes would remain narrowed, ears back and stance widened to accommodate her tripod stance.

Ylva;
a fatal dance, a primal rage.

The battle call had rang strong in her ears; she knew what was happening.

It hadn't been long ago since she had came across such a stranger while hunting for a boar on the Golden Isle. The broad woman had spoke of wanting more, making a perfect herd, and bringing the world to its knees. Everything that Ylva enjoyed hearing. With no absolute loyalty to Draco, only to The Firstborn himself, the heathen had agreed to join forces with the female.

She put her hopes in Destroyah; hope of greatness. She had vowed herself to the beast of a woman, her strong mind was what bewitched Ylva. Her ideas, her dreams, the plans she had for The Heretics and the Iron Valley. It had been everything the heathen wished for. Not just typical male throwing their brawn around and performing nothing but sexist acts.

Upon her asking to become a part of the herd, she had saw Draco as a great ally; however once inside she formed a different opinion. The acts of his father, Renegade, disgusted her. While she guarded the Serfs and spat on them; for she believed if you weren't strong enough to stand up for yourself, you were good for nothing but being a slave. Simply spreading your own bloodline was ridiculous in her stand point. You could only produce so many spawn before it soon became a pool of incest. And that was repulsive.

Rapid wingbeats echoed outside of the Colosseum as the female brought herself to land just outside of the marbled battle grounds, hooves met the soil and she tucked her massive wings against her hide the best she could, while the last two feet dragged along the ground as she walked. Nares flared as she took in the scents; she could tell Draco was here, along with her new found Queen, and another male... She had picked up his scent before, on Destroyah. Possibly one who also supported her. The stench of blood also filled the air.

Approaching the field, her amethyst orbs laid upon a brute that stood frozen in anticipation, watching the two beasts collide together. The male was much larger than her, taller and heavier. His hide was striped; a mix of gray, ivory, and red plastered his coat. Fascinating horns riddled his head. Ylva tilted her head in curiosity as she approached him, nares flaring as she took in his scent. He definitely was one of Destroyah's. Stopping at his shoulder, a silent giggling at how much taller he was, she kept her gaze upon her the female where her loyalty now laid and the Emperor Draco. "You got one hell of a shieldmaiden, kriger." She spoke to the male that was beside her, a smirk laid upon her lips. The battle that was unfolding before her riddled her in excitement; her blood-thirst was growing.

The two broad chests collided with a loud thud, and Draco ignored the white hot pain that shot through him.  He was born for this, he had come out of the womb wielding spikes practically all over him, and a personality so cruel, so bloodthirsty, that even his father Renegade seemed scared by him.  It was not his fault that he had no experience battling other equines, everyone else was too scared to challenge the Emperor to a battle!

The foolish mare let out a laugh at his words.  She must know now that Draco was new to battling other equines, that could be the only explanation.  This did not matter to the stallion.  Draco was used to hunting, and the mare was only his prey.  Prey had never beaten him before.  She thought she was his equal, even his superior, but she was dead wrong.  As the two fought, Draco noticed a familiar face out of the corner of his eye.  Ylva.  It was clear she was not here to support him, however.  She seemed to be making conversation with the other man here, Deatroyah’s little cheerleader.  Draco was filled with rage, though he did not show it on his face.  His first order of business after whooping Destroyah would be to take care of the treasonous mare.  There was no doubt in the stallion’s mind that Ylva would not be keeping her rank in the Heretics after this.

As Draco twisted away from his challenger’s grip, he felt the mare release her hold.  She quickly retaliated however, and raked her teeth down the side of his neck.  As she did, Draco snapped his head down teeth gnashing, hoping to mangle one of her eyes.  The neck wound, though long, was shallow due to their close proximity and the lack of power behind the blow.  Not missing a beat, the stallion lunged.  Draco grinned as he felt his horn connect with the flesh of Destroyah’s neck.  Blood dripped down his lavender appendage, turning his white face crimson, just like after he had slain the basilisk.  There was no difference between these two fights, in both instances Draco would prevail easily, with his opponent laying slain on the ground.  Suddenly, a part of Draco’s brain spoke up that had been silent since birth.

What if that didn't happen?

What if… what if prey conquered predator?  That was possible, wasn’t it?

As Draco fought, a feeling blossomed in his gut, one strange and foreign.  It was an unpleasant feeling, and it was something that the stallion had never experienced before.  It was something that made him feel a chill throughout his entire body, a numbness that was completely new to the Heretic Emperor.

Doubt.

DOUBT.

This feeling only enraged the beast even more.  How dare he feel that way? He would not lose, not in a million years, he was an idiot for even considering the impossible outcome of defeat! As the mare spoke, the vision out of Draco’s good eye (the other one having swollen beyond use) seemed almost to tint red from his fury.  He hid it with his signature smirk, one that he had been using to mask his feelings since his youth.

“A true leader doesn't need a cheerleader to come support him, unlike you.  You are nothing but a weakling who knows nothing of this land-” He was cut off as he jerked his head down to dodge her blow at his ear.  Only a large nick was left upon it.  Draco had anticipated an attack like this, and before lunging, he had flattened his ears.  Pure joy glinted in his one good eye.  “-and it's time you are put in your place.”

Draco stood, muscles tense in a defensive stance.  As the mare attempted to knee Draco in the chest, the stallion was ready.  He stood his ground, using his heavier weight to his advantage.  The attack hurt and was sure to bruise, but Draco was not deterred.  However, in such a tense stance, he did not have enough time to move his left leg as Destroyah’s hoof sliced down upon it.  A gash, oozing inky blood, was left in its place.  It was sure to scar after this battle.  As soon as Destroyah had landed her attack, Draco, practically insane with fury and adrenaline, sprung at her.  The battle was nearing its end, and it was time to strike one last time.

Draco shoved his full weight into her, continuing to push in an attempt to shove her backwards.  As he shoved, he stuck out his right hoof, using the huge thing to swing at the joint part way down her leg.  He wanted completely unbalance her before he performed his attack.  He would not lose, it was not possible.  That strange feeling, doubt, was fake.  Or at least, that is what he told himself.

As he shoved, muscles and wounds burning alike, Draco’s mind flashed to the past year, those glorious months of his reign.  He thought of Nephele, Dissonantia, and all the others bowing… Bowing to him, and only him! He thought of his harem of mares. Fade, Nakia who had been doing a fine job of producing for him, and of course Rowan.  He had complete power over them as well!  But perhaps the best memory he had was of his first herd meeting, when his father, his own father (as simple minded and idiotic as he was) bowed to him, his son.  Draco couldn't lose all of this!  He loved power, it helped him to thrive. No, it was more than that...

He could not survive without power.

Finally pushed over the edge, Draco let loose a blood curdling roar, and swung frantically with his lavender horns, putting as much power as possible behind the blows.  He did not care where they hit, so long as they hit.  He would spill this mare’s blood.  She would feel more pain than she ever had before.  This was the true wrath of the Heretic Emperor.

As he swung, he continued attempting to shove the mare.  With one final attempted shove, he reared.  His hooves moved frantically in the air, all of his strength put behind the random and desperate blows, aimed mostly at her head and neck.  There was no way he would lose.  It just wasn’t possible.  Doubt was fake.  He would leave this mare here to bleed to death on the Colloseum floor as he walked away victorious.

As he fell back to all fours, he twisted midair, landing with one group of his giant crystal shoulder growths pointed at Destroyah like a sword.

Defeat was not an option.

He was a predator, she was prey.  They all were.  Everyone in Elysium was his for the hunting, and they would all fall to him, one by one, they would all bleed.  A wild grin spread across his lips. The insane beast was ready to hear this mare beg for mercy.

First Destroyah, then Elysium.

OOC: wow… I would say he’s gone insane.  I loved this battle, it has provided so much character development for Draco, especially this last post.  I've been waiting for him to finally break, and it happened XD. Best of luck to you!

Summary:  uses his height to bring his head down upon Destroyah with teeth gnashing in an attempt to mangle her eye.  Jerks head away from Destroyah’s attack at his ear (partial dodge used), stood his ground as he was kneed in the chest.  Destroyah’s hood sliced open his leg.  Draco attempts to shove his full weight into her while swinging wildly with his horn while continuing to shove his full weight into her.  He then rears and punches wildly at her with his front hooves.  Twists midair and lands with his sharp crystal growths pointed at her as both a sword and shield.

Injuries: multiple bruises on his chest from several collisions, painful, several moderately deep wounds on side of neck (blood is beginning to clot), shallow wound on the top of his neck, (a chunk of mane is missing), swollen black eye, shallow nicks on his legs from being tripped by Destroyah's hooves, one large gash on leg from Destroyah's hoof. Right ear has been almost completely split in half down the middle.

Partial dodges left: ⅓
Dodges left: 1/1

DESTROYAH vs. DRACO

THE RESULTS ARE IN!

The judges of this challenge were as follows and in no specific order:
Camy, Randalin, and Boaz.

Destroyah:
General Roleplaying - 4/5 stars
Overall you did well with this, except for in the fourth post, second paragraph. Destroyah cannot say for sure that she knows Draco has never fought an equine, that is meta-playing. In the future, you can voice suspicions but not direct realizations regarding an opponent’s skills without prior knowledge or direct evidence (battle technique is not evidence).

Battle Technique - 4/5 stars
The attacks were nicely done, but repetitive. However, you kept to realism which is great! As for dodges, you did a marvelous job of keeping them realistic and mixing them with your attacks.

Creativity - 3/5 stars
Again, you were repetitive in your attacks, try to use more than her weight/slamming her chest into him and going after the neck. Using your environment as aids or detriments is also a great way to score points and make the fight more interesting!

Readability - 2/5 stars
It was rather difficult to follow your posts; overuse of “would” describe actions as well as numerous grammatical errors and typos made it hard to read. Try to make sure you’re proof reading your posts. Example: then vs than and loose vs lose.

Overall - 3/5 stars
For the future: more creativity in your attacks and better editing will go a long way in securing victory.

TOTAL: 16/25

Draco:
General Roleplaying - 4/5 stars
You did well describing the reasoning behind Draco’s actions as well his emotions. However, be mindful of opponent positioning to avoid further misreading.

Battle Technique - 4/5 stars
Attacks and dodges were nicely executed but repetitive. It is also important to keep in mind that though his height and weight give him some advantages such as power behind attacks, it will also slow him down; twisting in midair would be very difficult.

Creativity - 3/5 stars
The use of the same/similar attacks is hard to read. Draco has horns; better use of them would have boosted your score here as well overall more creativity including use of the environment.

Readability - 4/5 stars
Few grammar mistakes and typos made this an enjoyable, easy to follow read.

Overall - 4/5 stars
Think beyond basic attacks and use the advantages you have; leaving a lasting impact of different but realistic attacks will serve you well in future fights!

Total: 19/25

Destroyah:
General Roleplaying - 4/5 stars
  •  It was good to see into her mindset, it would of been nice to read a little more about her past and how she became such a seasoned warrior. Although with that fourth post, you did did a bit of meta-playing; Destroyah cannot know based on Draco's moves that he hadn't fought another equine before. She could assume, but not say she knew.

Battle Technique - 4/5 stars
  • I would definitely say that her attack and defense is definitely to par with her skill. Just using her pure brute force to take down the opponent as she has no real advantages against someone with horns or crystals.

Creativity - 3/5 stars
  • Honestly this was one was poor. The continuous attacks to the neck and chest weren't creative. It would of been nice to see attacks elsewhere on the body, however going for Draco's eye was a nice touch!

Readability - 3/5 stars
  • I enjoy your writing style, although it is a bit different than most. Using a lot of "woulds", quite a few typos and grammar errors.

Overall - 4/5 stars
  • Her pure angst and fury to over throw Draco as an undeserving Emperor was fun to read; the fact that she wants a better future for Heretic and to bring her traditions into Elysium were a good read! However proofreading and mixing things up can really bring you a long way for a victory, keep that in mind.

Total - 18/25 stars

Draco:
General Roleplaying - 4/5 stars
  • The flash backs to prior experiences were awesome; I liked that he reminded readers that he wasn't used to battling other equines. But man, he is so full of himself! I love it.

Battle Technique - 4/5 stars
  • His attacks and defenses were within his fighting skills and were realistic.

Creativity - 3/5 stars
  • Same as with Destroyah, the constant attacks to the neck and chest were unimpressive. I would of loved to see more imagination with attacks and defenses. Use the surroundings! He could of used the uneven, old stones to his advantage!

Readability - 4/5 stars
  • Enjoyable to read; I could feel how impressed he was with himself and was pumped! The insights to his battle with the basilisk and the other prey he hunted were a nice touch. Short and to the point paragraphs were nice, however there were a couple typos. Proofreading is king!

Overall - 4/5 stars
  • Good job! The background history, why he wanted to defend his title, and just how irate the challenge made him was fun to read!

Total - 19/25 stars

DESTROYAH

General Roleplaying - 4/5 stars
There was metaplaying included in your fourth post in the second paragraph.  There is no way that she can figure out he only fought the basilisk with how he attacks since everyone has their own attacking style.  However, I love to see what character's are thinking during the battle, so thank you for showing it in detail!  Gives a great insight.

Battle Technique - 4/5 stars
I could feel the pain from here when they hit Draco successfully.  Though sometimes doing so many attacks can lead to a snowball effect, try not to pack so much in like you did in the later posts since it can lead to some confusion.  You had one attack that was a combination of two, leaving an option to what Draco would face about kneeing him in the chest or slam a hoof down.  Best to just stick to one to make the confusion lesser.  The rest though is done well what with dodging or taking on attacks.

Creativity - 3/5 stars
While the neck and chest are both a quick way to make damage and unsettle your opponent, it gets pretty repetitive.  Bite the legs, the rump, etc.  Really loved the trip though, it would've been great to see him fall.

Readability - 3/5 stars
Some parts were pretty difficult to follow with some attacks, especially since you put in a lot of "woulds."  When the opponent says "Chest aimed to hit hers", you can just reply with "chests met each other roughly" instead of "would hit" to make it flow better when you allow the attack to hit. For the rest, different words than would such as "attempt", "tried", and "intended".  I see that you did use some variants but would like to see more in the future.

Overall - 3/5 stars
It was fun to read the tricks up her sleeves, but I wanted to see more variants like those tricks from a warrior rather than the shoving that you did most of the time.  She's up against a massive male who is taller and heavier than she is, so try to trip and bite on the legs more to really get the edge on the larger characters.

Total - 17/25 stars

DRACO

General Roleplaying - 4/5 stars
I really like how he only has fought one beast, that being the creature, and he knows that it's a problem. Bit of a mess up though thinking that Destroyah stepped back.  Despite that, the detail of the pain he is going through in this fight is very well taken in.  The way he just snaps is beautiful at the end as well as well as his thoughts on the whole battle.

Battle Technique - 4/5 stars
Twisting in midair though seemed a bit odd since he is heavy to make that adjust in time.  Great use of his weight though at times to shove at her even though he doesn't have much of an experience fighting.  He took the majority of the attacks, and his injuries showcase that.

Creativity - 3/5 stars
Great use of his horn! However, too much of shoving and using his crystals.  Slash at her more, buck her, balance it out with more tricks up his sleeve.  He's a heavy boy, use to your advantage more with other attacks.

Readability - 5/5 stars
Had no problems reading your posts, they flow and are easy to understand very well.

Overall - 4/5 stars
While he is a big boy, he needs to use his horns more and try to bite at her.  He's taller and heavier so he needs to lash out when he can.  The way he snapped was great despite how beat up he is right now when it's all said and done.

Total - 20/25 stars

Destroyah: 51 stars.
Draco: 58 stars.

DRACO WINS!
